The sequence of the inter-inhibition of the five elements is: wood inhibits earth, earth inhibits water, water inhibits fire, fire inhibits metal, and metal, in turn, inhibits wood. Among the relationship of the five elements, any one of them has the inhibiting and being inhibited relationship. The inhibited one is the non-conqueror and the inhibiting one is the conqueror. So, the inter-inhibiting relationship is also termed conquering and unconquerable relationship.
