Acupressure For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Acupressure is very useful to boost your physical condition and to help you to cope with the tired, weak feeling of CFS. One important acupressure point to use is called CV 6. CV 6 is also called the Sea of Energy. It is situated three finger-widths below the navel. Close your eyes and relax, breathe deeply and hold on CV6 for two minutes. Pressing this point can also alleviate the dizziness and confusion sometimes experienced with this condition.

There are several other useful acupressure points in managing CFS:

1. Gallbladder 20 and 21 help to bring down energy from the head and keep it circulating throughout the body to promote healing. Applying gentle pressure to the gallbladder points may help relieve fatigue and depression while aiding your immune system. (Caution: If you are pregnant press Gall Bladder 21 only very lightly.)

2. Gallbladder 41 helps to regulate hormonal function.

3. All back bladder points relax and tone the nervous system.

4. Kidney 3 regulates kidney function. In Chinese medicine, a general lack of energy is associated with an imbalance in kidney function.

5. Large Intestine 4, 10, and 11 activate the large intestine, promoting proper elimination of toxins.

6. Liver 3 relaxes the nervous system.

7. Pericardium 6 relaxes the chest and the mind.

8. Spleen 6 strengthens the blood.

9. Stomach 36 improves digestion and absorption of nutrients.
